There are four Australian research bases in Antarctica and all are looking for staff.

To work in what is the coldest, driest and windiest place on Earth takes people with specific attitudes, skills and abilities.

The application and employment processes are not easy or quick but those that have worked there say it is an amazing experience.

Although the pay is comparable with similar positions in Australia  there is an extra component added to allow for the harsh conditions involved.

Now most businesses have some type of Code of Conduct, the one for these positions is particularly important because each of these stations are isolated communities so the behaviour of the people in them is crucial to the balance in those communities.

Many positions within food businesses can be found in these stations, so it is certainly something that those in the food industry could consider.
